Soggiorno in una dimora storica vicino Firenze. Antico borgo, immerso nel verde della campagna toscana, composto da alcune ville in pietra con piscina e terra-tetto recentemente restaurati nel più autentico stile toscano e trasformati in eleganti e spaziosi appartamenti arredati con molto gusto per un soggiorno di lusso. All’interno della dimora storica (di circa 200 ettari) si trova anche la Villa rinascimentale, risalente al 1500, un tempo residenza di Giovanni Della Casa, uomo di stato del Vaticano ed autore di numerosi scritti, tra cui il famoso Galateo.
Distanze: Borgo San Lorenzo con negozi di tutti i generi a 3 km, Scarperia con campo da golf a 5 km, Firenze a 27 km.
A disposizione degli ospiti durante il soggiorno: ampio giardino completamente recintato, 2 piscine (16 x 8 m - aperte dal 01/04 al 31/10) con idromassaggio, wine bar per la degustazione di vini e formaggi e prima colazione a buffet ogni mattina su richiesta, ping-pong, campo da pallavolo, spazio giochi per bambini, barbecue e campo da tennis, spazio esterno attrezzato e privato per ogni appartamento. Parcheggio coperto all’interno della proprietà. Gli alloggi, dotati di TV satellitare e telefono, sono disposti su più piani ed hanno un ingresso indipendente.
Servizi extra:"Centro Benessere" con palestra cardio-fitness, sauna, hammam e jacuzzi € 20 per un'ora e mezza di utilizzo. Possibilità di godere di trattamenti benessere viso e corpo con i prodotti della linea Maria Galland.
Lettino bebè e letto extra disponibili su richiesta ( € 52,-/ a settimana, da pagare sul posto). Possibilità di noleggiare gratuitamente mountain bikes e di acquistare i prodotti della fattoria. Lavatrice a gettoni in comune (€ 6 / a lavaggio). Su richiesta è possibile effettuare degustazioni di vino, visite guidate, escursioni naturalistiche, gite in bicicletta e corsi di lingua italiana, di cucina toscana e di pittura.

Our welcome to the villa was warm and friendly, even though we arrived very late at 11.45pm. We were brought to our villa where there was champagne and a basket of fruit waiting for us , which was a really lovely way to start our honeymoon.
The villa was cosy and the resort itself was beautiful. The resort was quiet with a charming rustic feel. We spent a few of our days relaxing by the pool by the wellness centre. As there was no children allowed at this pool it was always quiet, most days no one else was there. Sometimes there was not a sound which was so peaceful and the view form the pool was amazing.
The restaurant was quaint and again had that rustic country feel. They served a different Tuscan special each night.The dinners were expensive however it was worth it to stay on the gorunds and have a quiet evening with wine and good food.
The staff were more then friendly and ever so helpful.
There was not much at all to complain about and as the overall place was beautiful the complaints we had did not bother us muchat all during our stay. The villa itself was spacious, apart from the bathroom which we found quite small. There was no bath in our particular villa and the shower was very small. We also assumed that your villa would be cleaned maybe once a week and any EXTRA cleaning you had to pay for. However, it turned out the villa was never cleaned unless you paid for it. They left clean towels in the villa maybe twice a week, however, did not take the old towels away, so we had quite a build up of dirty towels and 2 dirty table cloths-there was no basket or anything to leave them in - as far as we were aware.
Also, when you lit the fire, the villa smelled of smoke for the rest of your stay. It did not bother us a great deal though as it sort of added to that country rustic feel. The Spa was beautiful,however,we would have spent more time there if you did not have to pay 20euro a go each. We thought this was a bit much, especially if you only wanted to soak in the jacuzzi for half an hour.We went twice in our 2 weeks due to the price. As part of the resort I feel this should be a free facility. Tennis and cycling was free though.
Overall, we would rate our stay at Monsignor della Casa about 7/10. The only things that brought this down were the things mentioned above, mainly the cleaning and the spa usage. As a finalist for the great hotels of the world in 2009, we would expect that it should be 9/10 at least - a better cleaning service would definitely bring it up to 8or 9.
I would most certainly return , but maybe only for 1 week at most and I would definitely recommend it for a relaxing break. Thank you to all at Monsignor Della Casa.
Our stay at Monsignor Della Casa Country Resort was one of our best stay in Italy and in the tuscany region ever. The service level and the staff was excellent.
